Add a refined
vignette
For the final step, I want to make
the model stand out from the background.
I select the Radial Filter, which is dragged
out with the Mask active
so I can check that the
model is unaffected
by the adjustments.
Exposure is set to -1.25
to darken; Highlights to
-60; Shadows to +30,
to maintain detail in this
area; -and Saturation
to -60. To reduce the
sharpness of the outer
area of the shot, Texture
and Sharpness are
set to -100.

Darken
background
The burnout at
the top of the frame is hugely
distracting, but rather than
crop it out and risk messing
up the composition, I select the
Graduated Filter, then hold down
the Shift key to lock the tool while
dragging a short grad for a hard
effect. I then reduce Exposure to
-0.35 and Highlights to -80. The
grad filter is just catching the
top of the model’s hand, so I
click on the Range Mask and
set it to Luminance before
increasing the left slider to 80.
