The Wait

(Graceabounds) #1
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul,
both sure and steadfast, and which enters
the Presence behind the veil. Hebrews 6:

Not to be slothful means patience is not a
passive thing, but you have to labour to
enter into God's rest and maintain your faith
in Him. God dosen't want you to enjoy His
provision and grace momentarily, but God
wants you to enjoy it throughout your
lifetime. And patience is an important virtue
that will help us to pace ourselves and
maintain our enthusiasm to keep our focus
on the Lord.

Hope involves our imagination. Hope comes
alive when the Holy Spirit gives picture to
your mind. Hope is an anchor that keeps you
from straining from God. And patience is
the ability of staying with God, not just
having some bite. Just like if you don't
anchor a ship, it will just be tossed about
with all the waves. But when you put an
anchor on the ship; it will hold it in place. So,
we see the bible liken hope as an anchor of
the soul that enters right into the holies of
holies, the presence of God where you are
kept anchored. If your hope isn't strong,
then you'll drift. It anchors you to the very

That you do not become sluggish, but
imitate those who through faith and
patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:

But if we hope for what we do not see, we
eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
Romans 8:25 (NKJV)

Patience is Faith over a prolong period of
time. You can help people to reach where
they can engage faith when we come
together to fellowship. Many Believers won't
be able to maintain their faith when they are
alone, that's why patience is very important.
Patience isn't a passive virtue, but an active
virtue that you engage over a long period of
time. Patience is nothing but Faith
stretched out over a prolong period of time.
For example, the way you run a sprint is
different from the way you run a cross
country race. For you to get to the finish line
when you are running for the cross country
race, you must know how to pace yourself.
Your christian life is not going to be
maintained by conference to conference
but it will be maintained by the level of your
perseverance in the presence of God.

Waiting on God is not just sitting out there
and you get distracted by the external
circumstances, but waiting means you are
anticipating on what Christ has already
done. It is very important for us to know this
because many people think patience is just
waiting on God, while sitting out there
feeding themselves with junks from the
society and the mass media, but they aren't
believing God, neither are they in faith in
what Christ has done.

Every person need to have a hope that wake
you up in the morning and gets you excited.
When you don't have a God given goal, the
devil will mess with your life by drifting you
all about from the presence of God. You
need to have a word from God that dictate
to you what you told do. It is not enough
doing good things, but you rather need to
stay single about what God has revealed to
you. Paul said in Philippians 3:23, 'one thing
I do'. You have to have a vision, a hope that

If your hope isn't strong, you will be drifting
all about. When you have the vision of God
kept in your mind, it keeps you focus and
you don't fluctuate. There are some people
who wake up every morning and they don't
have anything to live for, in other words they
don't have any hope inside of them. This is
because they don't have God's will revealed
to them. You will need to have a God given
goal; a hope that will capture your
imagination and keep you going.

God is not the one that wants to bless you
today and doesn't want to bless you
tomorrow. No! But it's you that always turn
the receiver on and off because you can't
maintain the same level of staying full of
God. You need to get yourself to the point
where you keep yourself encouraged in the
Lord, and where you can keep your faith
active in Christ.
