LARGEST STAND-UP PADDLE SURFING BOARD
On 25 Sep 2016, Tropical (ESP) unveiled a 14.85-m-long (48-ft 8.6-in)
stand-up paddle (SUP) surfboard in Playa de Las Canteras, Las Palmas de
Gran Canaria, Spain. A group of 25 participants paddled it for a distance of
2 km (1.24 mi) in 40 min. Eight days earlier, at the same location, Tropical had
presented the largest inflatable lilo (right), measuring 73.95 m² (796 sq ft).

LARGEST TEAPOT
Measuring 4 m (13 ft 1 in) tall and 2.58 m (8 ft
5 in) in diameter at the widest part of its “belly”,
this giant iron teapot was created by Sultan
Tea (MAR) and unveiled in Meknes, Morocco, on
27 Apr 2016. It weighs around 1,200 kg (2,645 lb).
For its inauguration, 1,500 litres (396.25 US gal)
of tea was prepared, using 3 kg (6 lb 9 oz) of mint.

LARGEST SANDAL
Appointed by the Municipio de Sahuayo (MEX),
a group of artisans created a giant huarache – a
type of traditional Mexican sandal – measuring
7.45 m (24 ft 5.3 in) long and 3.09 m (10 ft 1.6 in)
wide. Its size was verified in Sahuayo, Michoacán,
Mexico, on 24 Nov 2016. The sandal incorporated
around 80 m^2 (861.1 sq ft) of leather.

The largest teapot (right) contained enough tea to fill
30 beer barrels, or nearly 10 bathtubs!

LARGEST BOBBLEHEAD
Applied Underwriters (USA) displayed a 15-ft
4.75-in-tall (4.69-m) bobblehead in Orlando,
Florida, USA, on 8 Apr 2016. Created by scenic
prop shop Dino Rentos Studios, it takes the form
of a scaled-up version of a St Bernard dog, the
company’s mascot. The head bobs when a leash
attached to the neck is pulled.

Tallest floating slide
On 18 Jun 2016, Baysports (IRL) presented a
6.52-m-tall (21-ft 4.7-in) inflatable water
slide in Athlone, County Roscommon,
Ireland. The slide is part of the Baysports
Boat Training and Water Sports Centre.

Badminton racket
M Dileef (IND) created a badminton racket
16.89 m (55 ft 4.9 in) long, as verified in
Kozhikode, Kerala, India, on 1 Apr 2016. The
outsized implement was more than 24 times
the size of a conventional badminton racket.

Bar of soap
On 11 Dec 2015, Jinan Rujia Co., Ltd (CHN)
presented a soap bar weighing 14.45 tonnes
(31,856 lb) – around twice the weight of an
African elephant – in Jinan, Shandong, China.
It had taken three months to produce.

HEAVIEST BICYCLE
Jeff Peeters (BEL) built a bike
weighing 860 kg (1,895 lb 15 oz),
then rode it in Mechelen,
Belgium, on 19 Aug 2015.
Jeff, who has an
extensive history of
creating mechanical
contraptions,
recycled materials
to make the record-
breaking bicycle.
Its hefty tyres once
belonged to a tractor.

Puppet/marionette
The mascot for Ottawa’s
annual Italian Festival was
17.82 m (58 ft 5.5 in) tall.
It was presented by the Villa
Marconi Long-Term Care
Center in Ottawa, Canada,
on 6 Sep 2008.

Rag doll
Created by Fundación
Mundo Mejor (COL),
the largest rag doll
measures 6.5 m (21 ft
4 in) tall. It was made
for the Feria Nacional
de la Niñez y su Mundo
in Palmira, Valle del
Cauca, Colombia,
on 4 Apr 2014.

Rubik’s Cube
Tony Fisher (UK)
built a cube with
sides measuring
1.57 m (5 ft 1.8 in),
as verified in
Ipswich, Suffolk,
UK, on 5 Apr 2016.
