often a struggle to
balance out bright
skies with darker
land below. With the
extra dynamic range
in a raw file, we have
greater scope for
pulling cloud detail
out of bright skies

Graduated Filter
is ideal: we simply
load the tool with
12 CLAW BACK
BLOWN SKIES
negative Exposure,
then drag down
from sky to land
(hold Shift to keep
the lines horizontal).
