1 lb dried figs, 1½ pints milk, 4
tablespoons rice, 3 eggs, 2 oz butter.
In a large thick saucepan warm
the milk, put in the rice, let it
simmer very gently for about 15
minutes until the rice is softened
but not cooked through. Leave to
cool a little. Gradually add the
beaten eggs, and then mix with the
chopped figs and the softened
butter.
