fuel must be adequate to keep the generator running, in emergency
conditions, for the period specified for the vessel concerned - whilst the
radiol satcom equipment is being run from that generator.

Individual equipment fuses


All radio and satcom equipment will have a protective fuse
somewhere in the power supply circuit - usually at the point of entry
into the equipment, or in the power supply cable leading to the
equipment. You should carry spares for every piece of equipment, making
sure that the spare fuses are:


  • The correct rating (current).

  • The correct type - e.g. T (anti-surge); S (slow-blow); F (fast); FF {very
    fast}.

  • The correct physical sizeltype (e.g. cartridge or bayonet).
