MF /HF DSC watchkeeping receiver(s)
All MF /HF DSC scanning watchkeeping receivers will be checked
to ensure that:
Type and serial numbers are as recorded in the previous survey, or
match subsequent amendments to the ship's radio licence.
Units are type approved, CE-marked or wheel-marked.
Main and reserve power supply is available and connected.
Current drawn from the reserve supply is as expected.
Units cover the bands (MF/HF) required by the ship's GMDSS sea
areas of operation (A2/A3/A4).
On-air checks of reception are satisfactory.
There is no adverse electrical/magnetic interference from other equipment.
MF /HF Narrow-Band Direct Printing (NBDP) Telex Equipment
NBDP equipment will be checked to ensure that:
Equipment type and serial numbers match the previous surveyor are
otherwise in line with subsequent licence changes.
Units are type approved, CE-marked or wheel-marked - and comply
with IMO requirements.
Main and reserve power supply is available and connected.
- Maximum reserve current is as expected.
- Vessel ID and answer back are programmed correctly.
- On-air checks with a coast station are satisfactory.
There is no adverse electrical/magnetic interference from other
equipment.
NAVTEX receiver(s)
All NAVTEX receivers will be checked to ensure that:
Make, type and serial numbers are as previously recorded.
Units are type approved, CE-marked or wheel-marked.
Receiver{s) cover 518kHz and any other frequency appropriate to
the vessel's operating area.
EqUipment receiver tests are satisfactory.
There is no adverse electrical/magnetic interference from other
equipment.
Equipment internal tests are satisfactory.
