Spice Blend
5 minutes l Makes^3 / 4 cup
You don’t need to buy Berbere or
Baharat spice blends to get zesty
Middle Eastern flavors. Just make this
spice blend at home.

2 Tbsp. garlic powder
2 Tbsp. ground coriander
2 Tbsp. paprika
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground turmeric
1/4 tsp. ground cardamom^
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
⅛ tsp. cayenne pepper


  1. In a blender or spice grinder
    combine all ingredients. Blend to a
    fine powder. Transfer to an airtight
    container and store in a cool, dry
    place up to 6 months.



  • Season steamed couscous
    and/or vegetables

  • Dust over hummus

  • Sprinkle on salads
