ON BOARD

443FT ICE-CLASS
EXPLORATION VESSEL

What is it? Refit work on Octopus and
Tatoosh sparked Jonathan Quinn Barnett’s
imagination to conceive the perfect
exploration platform for polar travel.
Why we love it When just one helicopter
won’t do... this explorer’s hangar stores
three EC145s. Owners get a private deck
with exercise pools fore and aft, and
everyone will enjoy the top deck all-climate
winter garden with opening roof, spa pools,
waterfall and a living wall. While the design
is scalable, Barnett likes the 24-guests-to-
50-crew ratio that 443ft allows and says
that PYC doesn’t have to mean utilitarian.

ESPINOSA 100FT
FAST YACHT

What is it? JC Espinosa’s fresh
take on the 100-footer, with a
sweeping superstructure over
a modified semi-displacement
hull that’s capable of 22 knots.
Why we love it The modern
lines are about more than just
looking cool (though they do).
The superstructure is a result
of Espinosa extending the side
decks by 1ft port and starboard,
so they overhang the sheer of the
hull. It’s a nifty trick that gives the
main deck more space than the
hull allows. Forward, the owner’s
suite is enclosed in glass and
opens on to a private bow terrace.

98FT INTERMARINE

What is it? A 98ft concept for Intermarine Shipyard by
Luiz de Basto, who designed the yard’s current production line.
When completed, it will be the Brazilian yard’s flagship.
Why we love it This yacht is all about being surrounded by
nature. The main deck is enclosed in floor-to-ceiling glass, and
on the top deck the hot tub’s glass floor filters sunlight below.
Balconies fold down on both sides of the main salon and the
transom, making the swim platform big enough for a party.
