ON BOARD

SILENCE

What is it? Created during Feadship’s Captains’ Summit, the
yard’s 213 footer fulfills the brief for a yacht that facilitates
partying by night but is Zen by day.
Why we love it Silence is fun yet has a low ecological
footprint. Novel features include a hydroponic garden, a
stage with self-lighting dance floor and a pool that overhangs
the upper deck. A diesel-electric system uses permanent
magnet E motors, while a combination of pre-cooling AC air,
solar windows and waste heat recovery reduces hotel loads.
It also has space to carry a towable ocean cleanup system.

NAUTA 78M

What is it? A 1,975GT diesel-
electric superyacht from the
Italian firm that gave us Azzam.
Why we love it The design is
pure Nauta – clean, uncluttered
and devoid of superfluous
detailing. A patent-pending
system transforms the bathing
platform into a 3,000-square-
foot terrace that Nauta calls
“the Island.” In the beach club
is a Nemo observation lounge
while the platform outside has a
seawater pool that disappears
when its teak bottom is raised
hydraulically flush to the deck.

SUPER-EXPEDITION 213FT

What is it? A 213ft modular concept by
Ivan Erdevicki that can change shape
to include a science laboratory, extra
accommodation or additional storage.
Why we love it This is something we
haven’t seen before. Up to three
pre-fabricated modules can be added or
removed, using the vessel’s crane, to
predetermined foundations in the boat
deck, with plug-ins for power and plumbing.
The open aft deck behind offers just as
much possibility, with 4,000squarefeet
of space – perhaps hosting a33ftby16ft
infinity pool that converts to ahelipad,
as Erdevicki suggests.
