PLCs with expanded control capability
This portfolio of PLCs is designed to enable comprehensive
manufacturing control and production optimization. End users
will be able to expand their operations and
supply chain control—the process manu-
facturing of goods all the way through
to assembly and packaging. The cloud-
connected controllers, industrial PCs and
devices for smart plants complements the
company’s Plantweb digital ecosystem. The
portfolio includes offerings for machine
control and discrete applications with
products such as PACSystems, PACMotion,
VersaMax IO and QuickPanel+, which will remain standalone
technologies for OEM machinery and edge applications.

PLC/PAC system with IIot-ready CPU
The fully loaded EZRack PLC/PAC system with IIoT-ready CPU
and MQTT protocol is Sparkplug B-enabled for connectivity to
the Ignition platform. EZRack Designer Pro software is avail-
able for download and comes with a built-in simulator. The
software supports advanced
function blocks and auto
tag addressing. The PLC
comes in a three-, five- and
seven-slot base with built-in
Ethernet, USB, micro USB
and two serial ports, which
are available for programming. The device supports EtherNet/
IP, Modbus TCP/IP and RTU, EZRack TCP/IP and ASCII in/out
protocols as well as a range of I/O modules and historical and
real-time data logging.

Micro-PAC with embedded virtual HMI
The micro IoTPAC with embedded virtual HMI provides an
automation solution suited
for the IoT and Industry
4.0. The PAC helps reduce
energy usage and control
panel size over traditional
PLC + HMI control systems
or combined PLC/HMI

products. It combines the company’s open-architecture PAC
with an embedded version of IoTView, its Web Studio SCADA
software. A memory-based driver allows the virtual HMI to
read/write to SoftPLC’s PAC data table, and IoTView provides
HTML5 Web pages. Any PC, tablet or smart phone can be used
to view or run the operator interface, whether connected by
hard wire, wirelessly or over the internet.

Motion control software with preloaded
address support
The RMC200 controller has been certified by Profibus/Profinet
International as a Profinet device, and its firmware and the
RMCTools software have been
updated to include preloaded
address support for a variety
of HMIs and PLCs, speeding up
installations. The firmware and
software offer support for build-
ing control algorithms using
active damping and acceleration control. This helps produce
accurate, repeatable moves with difficult-to-control systems
and allows the use of smaller-than-typical cylinders, valves
and power units. The software also offers model-based control,
enabling precise control of complex nonlinear systems. Users
can access this control through drop-down menu selections
and interactive expression boxes.

IIoT-enabled safety and process controller
The Modicon M580 IIoT-enabled safety and process controller
combines the performance, cybersecurity and networking capa-
bilities of the Modicon M 580 Ethernet-enabled PAC with the func-
tionality of a safety PLC. Part of the company’s EcoStruxure Plant
IIoT platform, the controller uses the same software tools, wiring
methods and X 80 I/O structure as the M 580 ePAC to reduce spare
part inventory and maintenance costs. It also provides the work-
force with access and visibility to operating data and diagnostics
via a secure Ethernet communications backbone.
Mobile device compatibility
makes safety and operating
data available anytime.
