Figure 2.8 provides Ibe longitudinal current coefficient (C« ) in the ballasl condition. According
10 Reference 3 t.hese coefficients are nOI sensitive 10 the water depth 10 dr aft ratio. an.d may be used
for all ralios. other than deep water cases. NB. note that the attack angle is anrj-clod,wise from t.he
stem. Also, the positive X and Y directions arc forward and up, respectively.


An example for predicting wind and curreut forces to be used in delennining numbers of mooring
lines with band c:alculations is provided in Appendix D.


Section 2.4 provides information on the maximum combined forces on a vessel when subjecled 10
