River, near Sydney. In
the late 1990s he joined
Sydney Game Fishing Club,
where his whole family
got involved. Each year
he now joins Phil Webster
to fish the heavy-tackle giant black marlin season off
Cairns, where in 2011 he tagged and released a black
estimated at 475kg. Apart from the fishing, Ken says he
loves the friendships this sport has enabled him to enjoy.

his grandfather in Victoria
when he was four. He’s
now a veterinarian working
with his own consulting
company with some of
the bigger fish farming
companies in Australia and
overseas. Paul still loves his fishing and catching a feed
but says we must treat fish with respect – as we would
any other animal. He now guides anglers and businesses
in how to humanely process and maximise the quality of
fish taken for food.

A CHAMPION’S PEDIGREE
Caribbean 2700 Flybridge Pro Fisherman
From its origins as the Bertram 25 a half-century ago, this
Australian-made pocket gameboat has remained a firm
favourite. Its long evolution has seen it develop into the
polished form of the new Caribbean 2700 Flybridge Pro
Fisherman. Equipped with two Suzuki outboards, this big-
fish rig punches way above its affordable price tag.
