HAMISH CARMICHAEL’S SHORTBILL SPEARFISH
While fishing off Gisborne on January 25, on the North Island of New Zealand,
Hamish Carmichael caught this 38.05kg shortbill spearfish which could potentially
set the new Men’s 24kg line class world record. Hamish took 20 minutes to land
the potential record after it ate the Pacific Pearl lure he was trolling. The current
Men’s 24kg line class world record stands at 32.5kg.
