Kite fishing offers huge advantages when
chasing wary fish – especially tuna and sailfish- and it also works a treat on species turned-
on by surface splashing, such as yellowtail
kingfish. Kites also deliver some of the most
spectacular sights you will ever see in game
fishing. During a trip to Canada, I can still
picture the moment a 400kg Atlantic bluefin
tuna launched itself into the air to broach on
a live mackerel dangling from a fishing kite.

Drifting may be a significant change for you,
but once you find where the fish are located - perhaps over bottom structure, or around
a baitball – shutting off the motors to drift
with the ultimate stealth presentation can

Kites are an everyday piece of equipment for
thousands of boats chasing sailfish off Florida,
