Whatcaughtmyeyeisthatshewas

workingwithcurves,asopposedtothese

geometric,angledyachtsthateveryoneelse

wasdoing.Herdesignwasfluid,andvery

clean,withwell-definedvolume,which

isdifficulttodoonalargeboat.Youcan

stackdecks,anddosomethingcleverwith

horizontallines,buttheseorganicshapes

thatYiharncreatedarereallychallenging–

there’sanintelligentsimplicitytoherstyle,

andsheknowswhattoleaveout.

Ithinkshecangoontodowhatevershe

wantsnow–I’msureshe’sgoingtodo

well,andI’llbewatchingherworkclosely.

Technologyisopeningupincredible

possibilitiesforyoungdesigners,andthose

ofuswhoaremoreestablishedinthisfield

havetobeopentothattoo.”

“I’dalreadyheardofLuizbecauseDAR,

whichhedesigned,isoneofmyfavourite

yachts.Itwasinspiredbythehammerhead

shark,andmyprojectwasbasedonthe

mantaray,soIthinkwebothhavethis

loveforakindoffluid,naturalshapethat

helpstobringtheoceanin.

I’dsaymystyleisverynatural–andlike

manyyoungdesigners,Iliketoraise

awarenessaboutthestateoftheoceans

throughmywork.InthefutureIwant

tobreakthroughallthedecks,tocreate

somethingwhereyoucan’tdefineeach

level,andwheretheexterioroftheyacht

lookslikeaseamlessworkofart.

aftertheMonacoYachtShow,andI’mso

excitedtogetmorepracticalexperience,

andtolearnalongsidereallysenior
