SEPTEMBER^
KAMCHATKA, RUSSIA
Enjoy untapped adventure in this restless peninsula

This land of primal beauty resembles our planet in the early chapters of
its creation, with spurting geysers and erupting calderas.
In September, mammoth brown bears patrol the waters for salmon
in unrivalled numbers, and the volcanic landscape has untapped
potential for adventure. With no roads or railways connecting it to the
outside world, Kamchatka is a haven for wildlife. Whether you wish
to bathe in thermal hot springs or search for migrating whales alongside
your marine guides, you’ll enjoy the very best that this remote and
little-known region of Russia has to offer.
This is a destination for those who don’t want to stand still. Launch
your adventure from the comforts of a private yacht and enjoy a wealth
of activities among one of the highest concentration of volcanoes in
the world. Getting here can take time, but Cookson Adventures has the
logistical expertise to mitigate this significantly.

Activities: Helicopter sightseeing over volcanoes, diving to underwater
smokers, rock climbing, fly fishing, river rafting, bear tracking and more.

OCTOBER^
PALAU, MICRONESIA
Make rare finds in the Pacific island nation

Sitting like an emerald necklace in the Pacific Ocean, the Micronesian
archipelago of Palau is home to some of the most exotic creatures in the
world. Its proximity to both New Guinea and the Philippines has resulted
in this cluster of jungle-covered islands exhibiting a remarkable variety
of endemic marine life.
Relics from the Second World War, such as aeroplanes and tanks,
dot the islands, both along the seabed and deep in the jungle, and red
snappers gather in their thousands to spawn with every full moon.
For divers in the know, Palau, with its many bays and coves, is often
recognised as one of the best dive destinations in the world. This
October, discover an exhibition of exotic fish and brightly coloured coral
that guarantees to impress even the most seasoned of explorers.

Activities: Submersible diving, hiking through the jungle with a wildlife
expert, kayaking through tropical mangroves, diving to manta ray
congregations and spotting incredibly rare dugongs.
