heading to the deserted, heather-
covered island of Scarba, which has
reintroduced wild boar after a
400-year absence from Scotland.
The strait between the island and
Jura is the Gulf of Corryvreckan and
it contains the third-largest whirlpool
in the world. It can produce 9m
waves and the noise can be heard as
far as 15km away. A helicopter gives
the best view of this natural wonder.
