Boat International – August 2019

(C. Jardin) #1

Family day trips tend to require a
lot of kit for entertainment,
snacking, quick changes and more.
One elegant solution is to contain
it all in something that combines
style and practicality – for everyone.
Hers: It has to be Hermès, and the
Airsilk Duffle 50 Bag in red or gold
classic patterns (right) is Tardis-like
in its roominess. It’s also light,
chic and has calfskin shoulder straps
for effortless carriage.
His: Men’s bags that don’t scream
business can be hard to find, so
Prada’s Beach Scene Saffiano
Briefcases (left) is a breath of fresh air. The fun exterior
contains a roomy and well-thought-out interior,
including a tablet sleeve and combination lock.
Theirs: Novelty backpacks for toddlers don’t come
any cuter than Skip Hop’s Zoo collection. Choices range
from ladybirds and bees (right) to unicorns and zebras,
all featuring a name tag and padded straps.

The Mediterranean is the
natural home of ice cream,
but you need to know what
you’re looking for. In
France it’s glace, Italy and
Greece it’s gelato, and in
Spain helado. Whatever
you call it, these places are
all worth a detour:

Slipstream’s stylish interior, with red and black
highlights and native Australian and Canadian
artworks, is every bit as eye-catching as her
exterior. Hand-carved totem poles and a
gleaming black fossil-filled staircase link the
three decks. The master suite features his-and-
hers bathrooms, a walk in wardrobe and a
separate office, as well as a raised observation
lounge linking to the foredeck.
