The client brief was for a relaxed scheme with

multifunctional interior and exterior spaces. The boat

would be used by three generations of the family so it

needed to work for everyone.

I’d describe the overall aesthetic as clean and casual.

I was inspired by natural elements: soil and water, and

the interaction between them. We chose a neutral colour

scheme that would blend with the surroundings and

produce a relaxed, calming atmosphere on board. We

used a lot of different materials, from hand-stitched

leathers and light suedes to neutral linens, handmade

silks and Iranian wool carpets. We also had oak wood in

contrasting tones, as well as high-gloss lacquered wood,

Carrara and Portoro marbles, Krion custom-made

surfaces and carbon-fibre details so there was a lot of

variation and attention to detail on board.
