SHOW REVIEW | VERSILIA YACHTING RENDEZ-VOUS
interest at products of this size, ideal for use in the
Mediterranean,” said Marco Valle, MD of Azimut
Yachts. “This is why Versilia Yachting Rendez-vous
represents an excellent context for its launch.”
The Atlantis 45 will be
available from September 2019.
Other VYR highlights
included the return of Norberto
Ferretti, former head of Italy's
Ferretti Group, to the world
of yacht-building with a new
range of lobster-style motorcraft
developed in conjunction
with Italy’s Solaris Yachts. The
first model in the series, the
16.8m SolarisPower 55, made
its world premiere at the show.
Complementing the builders were marinas, brokers,
designers, equipment and system manufacturers and
other service providers, with a strong emphasis on
technology, sustainability, tenders and toys.
“The VYR format is still young but pretty unique
and I believe it will have much more to give in the
years to come,” Tacoli told IBI. “The margin for
growth is considerable, especially on an international
level. This is one of the main reasons why exhibitors
should come back.
“After a long and difficult
contraction of the domestic
market, we can easily now claim
that the worst is definitely over
and the outlook for 2019 is further
increasing towards solid double
digits – a forecast that is also
confirmed by the strong results
obtained in 2018,” he adds. “Last
year was indeed one for the book
with a global turnover exceeding
the €4.2bn threshold pulled by
the national shipbuilders whose
overall production value was around €2.5bn in 2018.”
VYR 2019 was devised and planned by
Nautica Italiana and organised by Feira Milano
in partnership with the Tuscan Marine and Port
Technology District. The dates for next year’s show
are yet to be confirmed.
Nautica Italianaʼs Lamberto Tacoli
Azimut-Benetti had
a significant presence at
VYR with nine yachts on
the water from 10m-27m
