to provide auxiliary propulsion. The open-

ing photo on page 29 shows Zest during

sea trials in Saanich Inlet in late 2018.

Following Zest’s launch, Abernethy & Gaudin hauled the 48-ft German-built

ketch Passat into the workshop in the fall of 2018 for a sizeable refit including

house work, deck work, new teak cap rails, interior reconfiguration/retrofit, and

exterior cosmetic renewal and refinishing. Work on the vessel also included fabricating new stainless chainplates and new

silicone bronze rudder fittings. At press time, the Passat was undergoing final preparations for launching. –S.H.
