(ff) #1

1

Cheaper than Kids as delivered
after her 15 hour tow trip from
Maryland to Florida.

4

Fitment of a pair of grease points
and regular maintenance will protect
the carbon steel steering pin.

7

Faux teak vinyl flooring being cut to
shape to match a template made
from the old carpet.

10

A thorough buffing and polishing of
the gelcoat will make almost any
boat hull shine.

2

There’s dirty vinyl and matted sole
carpet but otherwise the boat is in
good condition.

5

Everything screwed to the cockpit
floor had to be removed so the old
carpet could be torn up.

8

With the vinyl glued down and seats
and other fittings reinstated the
cockpit sole looks great.

11

Cheaper than Kids moored to a
pontoon. Note the new teak-effect
vinyl flooring on the swim platform.

3

Installation of a ProMariner battery
charger would help keep the
batteries in fine fettle.

6

Removal of the carpet revealed a
GRP-encapsulated marine plywood
floor in extremely good condition.

9

Helm station cleaned and polished
and with a new chartplotter installed
looks the business.

12

Here’s the finished $3,000 Chaparral
2335 SS in use and moored at
Content Keys, Florida.

TOP TIP
Never use a
dissimilar metal wire
brush to clean
aluminium as fragments
may become embedded
in the alloy and
cause electrolytic
corrosion.
