Practical Boat Owner – August 2019

(ff) #1

year’s show includes no fewer than six
Princess motoryachts, as the UK company
shows no sign of slowing down its
aggressive new launch schedule. The
F45 is the company’s new ‘small’ boat but
look out for the ‘foiling’ R35 as well, which
was on display last year, but still has
novelty factor.
Continuing the novelty theme, who
doesn’t love an amphibious boat –
especially one that can do 45+ knots! A
world debut from the Iguana X100 shows

off the boat’s tank-track landing gear that
tucks away into the chines of the hull
without a trace, plus Ideal Boats will be
displaying its AMP 8.4m amphibious RIB
as well.
The Sealine C390 looks set to make a
debut appearance for anyone wishing to
get aboard the latest cabin cruiser from
the German-owned brand, plus there
promises to be surprises from Sunseeker
and a potential show-stopper from
Brabus Marine.
nLook out too for the UK-built Dale 40,
the Gulf Craft Oryx 379, the Solaris 44 and
the Prestige 590.
Yacht debuts include the Discovery
Revelation 480, the fixed-keel sistership to
the Southerly 480.
If you’re considering a charter in the
near future, then a stroll aboard one of the
two debut cruising catamarans from
Nautitech or Lagoon, might be instructive.
The all-new Spanish built Albatross 42
deck-saloon cruiser is going to be on
display for the first time in the UK as well.
Beneteau brings the new ‘entry-level’

Oceanis 30.1 to the show. The twin-rudder
design looks like it should sail well and at
a base price of just over £70,000 this is a
good opportunity to get aboard and find
out exactly what you might get for your
money.
nLook out too for the new Dufour Grand
Large 430 and 390, the J/99, BTC22 and
the inflatable Kayacat in all its bewildering
variations.

The BTC22 – tested in PBO February 2019
