MG MOTOR UK ROLLS
OUT NEW STANDARDS
FOR HYBRIDS AND EV
MG Motor UK has started the
implementation of new standards,
across its UK network, specifically
for hybrid and fully electric
vehicles. Developments include
industry-accredited training
qualifications to equip MG staff
with the knowledge and tools
required to support MG customers.
The MG ZS EV and planned
hybrids will use Type 2 and CCS
charging connections and MG
says that each of its dealerships
will feature a minimum of two
on-site charging points: a 7kW
wall-mounted charging point
available in the workshop, as well
as a 22kW charging point outside
the showroom entrance, allowing
customers a chance to learn
more about different charging
solutions and their capabilities.
The ZS EV can use either a home
charger, fast or rapid chargers. The
car is powered by a 44.5kWh water-
cooled battery with rapid charging
(0-80% charge in 43 minutes).
Domestic charging on 7kW takes
six-and-a-half hours from 0-100%.

LONGBRIDGE: MG ROVER PROTOTYPES COULD BE LOST
Rumours and photos on social media
in early July suggested that a number
of Rover and MG prototypes were set
to be scrapped following changes at
Longbridge. The cars include an MG
RDX60 and three MG PR3 prototypes.
There was also speculation that
MG’s STMC was closing down.
MG Motor UK Limited has yet to
comment about the claims but, as we
went to press, said a statement would
be forthcoming. Austin Rover Online
claimed that several museums have
expressed an interest in preserving these
cars, along with Lord Austin’s office.
