increase the capacity of the engine.

was a very popular saying in tuning
circles back in the 1960s and 70s.
For classic engines it is still very true
today. Big capacity A-series engines
are, of course, not new. Over 40 years
ago many people tried to optimise
A-series engines by overboring

These big end journals are
standard 1275 Spridget/Cooper S
size. For MG Metro engines with
the larger 1.75” diameter big end
journals Cooper S, or Spridget
rods, or the Arrow rods, all
1.625”, will be required.
