Boat charter platform Borrow A Boat has
launched a new service to cater specifically
for superyachts.
Called Borrow A Boat Plus, it’s a collaboration
with superyacht central agent Ocean
Independence and is being touted as the
first partnership of its kind. Its aim is to

‘bring an unprecedented level of ease and
access to superyacht charter’.
Utilising Ocean Independence’s entire
fleet of more than 100 yachts, Borrow A
Boat Plus will offer fully-crewed and catered
charters around the world, from 60-foot sail
or motor yachts right up to world’s most
expansive superyachts.
Borrow A Boat CEO
Matt Ovenden comments
“We’re excited to offer
this new range of luxury
crewed and catered boats
around the world, and
through our partnership
with Ocean Independence
this allows us to help
realise our goal of
becoming the most
inclusive, accessible
boating platform
worldwide”.

The iconic green former lightship and floating
restaurant at Haslar Marina in Gosport has
undergone a substantial refurbishment.
Trinity’s @ The Lightship has had a complete
refit, including new tables and a bar crafted
from 300-year-old greenheart oak salvaged

from River Hamble
mooring piles.
Diners can enjoy a
new menu featuring
classic coastal seafood
dishes such as
chowder, moules,
seafood specialities,
sharing platters, tapas and a grill section.
Haslar Marina has also introduced a special
lunchtime berthing rate of £5 for boats and
RIBs under 7.5m in a bid to encourage crews
of small boats to use the facility.
Mary Mouse 2 was the first light vessel
(named LV1) built by Trinity House after the
Second World War in 1946, and was based
all around the UK during her long working
life until her decommissioning in 1989.
John Dean and Richard Reddyhoff rescued
her from the breakers and took on the
responsibility of transforming her into a
restaurant in 1993.
