another owner of an ST34 has already
fi tted one and I’m wondering whether
it might make an interesting comparison
review for your readers.
Mark Jenkinson
That does sound like an interesting
comparison as I can see that it could
transform the low-speed cruising
comfort of a boat like this. I’ll contact
the owner and see if we can set
something up. Hugo
BEGINNER’S LUCK
I just wanted to say what a great
magazine you produce. I have just
started reading it after beginning to
dip my toe into power boating.
I have recently purchased a beach
front holiday fl at on Sandbanks and have
been lucky enough to be taken out by
several of the other fl at owners in their
boats. I am now eagerly looking forward
to getting involved in boating, and
although I realise that your market is
primarily for more experienced boat
owners, it would be good to see a small
piece on starting out in boating.
I will be doing my RYA Level 2 this
year and will then progress to buying
my fi rst boat. I am looking at a Cobalt
bowrider, but if you decide to do a piece
on choices for beginners’ boats, I would
read it with fascination. Trevor Hosking
We like to think we are relevant to
readers at all stages of their boating
career and only last month published
a special supplement on sub-30ft
sportsboats like your Cobalt, which
should prove right up your street. As it
happens we are also considering a new
series of How To instructional articles
and videos on getting into boating so
watch this space. Hugo
LITTLE READ CORVETTE
I was disappointed to see that the
Corvette failed to make an appearance
in your recent ‘Best of British’ issue.
Built in Britain for nearly four decades,
the Corvette is a rare boat, never copied,
and with so many attributes: spacious
trawler styling, 25-knot capability,
exceptionally sea kindly, two separate
heads/showers, social seating for up
to 11 on the aft deck and fl ybridge
and super-wide safe side decks. What
other boat can offer such benefi ts and
more in such a relatively short hull?
Thanks to the initial help from MBY in
publicising our newly formed Corvette
Motorboat Association back in 2014,
we now have more than 100 members
in nine countries and our website
http://www.corvettemotorboat.wordpress.com
has the most comprehensive collection
of information on Corvettes ever
published. David Morrison

If we featured every boat ever built
in the UK it would have been an
encyclopedia rather than a magazine,
but I’ll let you get away with another
shameless plug for the website! Hugo
