Yacht Style – July 2019

Seven guest cabins can accommodate as many as 14 guests, with
an additional 10 cabins for up to 17 crew, including doubles for the
Captain, first officer and chief engineer. The crew quarters include
materials and furnishings of a similar quality to those used in the guest
areas, at the owner’s request.
Project Fenestra features six decks: sun, bridge, owner, main,
guest and tank. Special attention has been paid to the owner’s deck,
which occupies over 1,600sqm and includes a lounge with bar and
a 180-degree view. The sun deck features a forward steering station,
gym, steam room and jacuzzi.
A distinctive feature is the fully dedicated beach club, replete with
bar, full bath, plus an upward-opening stern door and side-opening
terrace that flood the area with natural light.
Benetti also announced that the 63m Metis will be on display at
this year’s Monaco Yacht Show from September 25-28. A custom yacht
with steel hull and aluminium superstructure, Metis was built for a
German owner, who was introduced to the shipyard by Kurt Lehmann
of Yacht Moments, who was also in charge of project management.
Notable features include the custom gym on the fly deck, the
touch-and-go helipad and the 160sqm-plus owner’s apartment with two
double beds and an outdoor terrace.
Lehmann said: “Benetti confirmed once again its name as an icon
of timeless Italian style and excellence in megayacht construction.
The highly skilled Benetti’s technicians and engineers and the artisans
who worked for the shipyard have created an amazing yacht. The

dedication of everyone in communicating and exchanging views with
the Captain and owner was remarkable.”
Cassetta again handled the exterior design and sought to maximise
the dynamic proportions of a yacht that has a long bow with a vertical
straight edge.
“Metis is a modern and timeless yacht, which displays large
volumes behind flowing lines and innovative features, such as the
private deck,” Cassetta said. “The design is simple, yet characteristic
of Benetti.”
The modern interiors are by UK studio Bannenberg & Rowell,
which worked in partnership with Birgit Otte Interior.
Dickie Bannenberg said: “Metis’ unique layout has freed us from
what I call ‘the tyranny of alignment’, allowing us to unlock new
corners and views of asymmetric designs. This approach in particular
is reflected in the beach club, where the rooms are rotated by about 30
degrees compared to traditional layouts and offer a new view over the
sea through the transom and the side doors.”
Unconventional layouts are also evident in the main saloon and the
upper-deck saloon, while the full-beam owner’s suite features a lounge
and a breathtaking 180-degree view due to the full-height glazed
surfaces on the private bow deck.
Benetti’s recent deliveries also included the fourth Mediterraneo
116 and the fifth Delfino 95.
