Apart from much work analysing water flow over the hull and
underwater components, the designers draw on Maritimo Racing’s
offshore powerboat activities for innovations that are applied to the
cruising range.
The yard offers a wide range of impressing motor yachts, including
the M-Series Flybridges, the S-Series Sedans, and now the X-Series
Sports Yachts.
Riviera, like Maritimo headquartered across the Coomera River at
industrial Gold Coast Marine Precinct, has tended to do its own thing
with its Riviera Festival of Boating at these premises in recent years, but
for 2019 moved the Festival to become an integral part of the Sanctuary
Cove presentation.
A large 12-boat line-up included four world premieres — the 54
Enclosed Flybridge, Riviera 4800 Series 11, and the 5400 and 6000
Platinum Edition Sports Yachts — all of which attracted a slew of new
owners.
Available space precludes a fuller description of the event, but
briefly Mark Elkington of Multihull Solutions had his latest Iliad 50
power catamaran making her debut, and now offers a fast-selling 50-90ft
range.
Similarly Mark Richards of Palm Beach Motor Yachts premiered
the Palm Beach GT50, along with the PB50 Classic and 2019 PB65
Fly, and has forward orders of some models for two years. Sister yard is
Grand Banks of Malaysia.
An extensive display of small superyachts and other boats took
place as usual at Marina Mirage, next to Palazzo Versace Marina and
Southport Yacht Club, in the central Gold Coast, led by dealers Geoff
Lovett International, Ray White Marine and Ensign Ship Brokers.
