TYBA LAUNCHES CHARTER WEEK

T

he Thai Yachting Business
Association (TYBA) has announced
that the first Thailand Charter Week
will be held at Phuket Yacht Haven
from November 16-21, 2019.
Inspired by the Antigua Charter
Yacht Show and the MYBA Charter
Show in Barcelona in the Caribbean and
Mediterranean respectively, the Thailand
Charter Week will be Asia’s first international
charter show for industry professionals only.
The ‘B2B’ event is designed for local,
regional and international charter brokers,
central agents, luxury travel agents and tour
operators to meet local agencies and discover
some of the finest charter yachts operating in
Thailand and the rest of Southeast Asia.
The first three days will be dedicated to
visiting yachts on display at Yacht Haven
on the northeast coast of Phuket, a short
drive from the international airport. Able
to accommodate 320 boats, the superyacht-
friendly marina has deep-water access with
a 6m draft capacity allowing yachts of 100m.

The opening days will also include panel
discussions and presentations about various
charter destinations.
The last three days will feature day and
overnight ‘familiarisation’ cruises aboard
participating yachts to renowned charter
destinations around Phuket and the Andaman
Sea, to help build and realise potential business
and partnerships. The event will be followed by
the Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show (November
21-24) in the Gulf of Thailand.
Matthew Na Nagara, Chairman of TYBA,
which has almost 40 corporate members, said:
“The Thai Yachting Business Association is
very happy to be able to announce the first
Thailand Charter Week, which will be held
from November 16-21 at Phuket Yacht Haven,
a beautiful venue that caters to all sizes of
yachts, up to megayachts.
“Yacht Haven is ideal for both viewing the
yachts and accessing the beautiful cruising
destinations around Phuket. It’s also close to
the airport, which is ideal for our international
visitors.”

TYBA has appointed Lux Inc Media to
provide organisational support and promotion
of the show. Lux Inc Media is well known
across the Asia-Pacific region for producing
luxury lifestyle publications including Yacht
Style magazine, digital media including
Luxuo.com, and lifestyle events such as the
Penang RendezVous.
The event will be managed by an
organising committee of TYBA members
including Fraser, Camper & Nicholsons,
Northrop & Johnson, Asia Yacht Agency and
other local and regional charter companies.
The Thai Yachting Business Association,
