More of Our Canada – July 2019

(sharon) #1

Being the long weekend, as well as Cana-
da's 150th birthday, the lodge was serving
cake. On Canada Day, we wandered over to
the lodge hoping for a piece, but sadly by
the time we got there, they had run out. We
decided to celebrate with a few glasses of
wine and beer instead—not a bad way to
end the day!
You would think that having nine wom-
en who were strangers meet up and plan a
trip that required them to spend five days
together might be a mistake, but, as things
turned out, we all got along great. I believe
the love of the great outdoors we all share
created an immediate bond and connec-
tion. I made new friends and had the expe-
rience of a lifetime! n
