couldn’thaveaskedformorefrom
himthistime,”shesaid.
Thepairannouncedtheir
intentonthesechampionshipsby
claimingthenoviceAreaFestival
sashjustthedaybeforeatthis
samevenue.
Alongwithhermother,Steph
hasownedFrecklessincehewas
a two-year-oldandhasproduced
himherself.Theirachievement
is allthemoreimpressiveasthis
is thepair’sfirstyearofaffiliated
dressage,havingpreviously
evented.

dressagecareerinMarch.

hisfirsttest,inwhichhewasa
pleasuretoride.Hewasslightly
moretenseinhissecondtestand

aidsespeciallywhenlettinghim
stretchonthe20mcircle—that
isalwaysa slightgamble!”

then he sustained an injury so

“Hewassoenthusiasticin
bothtestsandjustfeltlikehewas
havingsomuchfun,whichwas
soencouraging.I can’tbelievewe

bothofourgrinsthatresembleda
Cheshirecatshowhowmuchwe
enjoyedourselves.”
BryleyLlewelyn,12,showed

Bryley,whohasproducedWill
herselfsincehewasa five-year-
old,reflected:“Ithoughtmytest
ontheSaturdaywasperfect—
I couldn’thaveaskedformore.
OntheSundayhewasa little
tired,butI amjustoverthemoon
atthisachievementespecially
sincewehaveonlybeenfullBD
[BritishDressage]members
sinceJanuary.”
Bryley’smotheradded:“I
didn’twanttoposttheirwinning
resultontheSaturdayasI didn’t
wanttojinxthetwoofthem.I am
soproudofthem.Itwasa long
seven-hourjourneytogethere,
