NZ Hunter – August 2019

(Ann) #1
condition for a shoulder
mount so I took only
the head along with as
much meat as I could –
and of course Lara’s
trophy – the heart
and liver.

I made it

back to

camp right

on dark.

After enduring one
of the coldest nights
I’ve ever had on the
hill, it’s fair to say
I didn’t go far the
next morning until
the sun was well
and truly up and my
boots had defrosted.
I just enjoyed the
moment and soaked up the mountain air
before finally packing up and beginning
the descent back to the truck.
Although nothing had gone to plan at
the beginning, it ended up being one of
my most memorable days on the hill, and
one I’ll never forget. Although it’s back to

the tool belt for a while now,
it won’t be too long before
I head out again to look for
a head skin to mount with
my trophy. It just goes to
show it always pays to
have a plan B – and
even a C.

TOUGH LETHAL ACCURATE

WHY FUSION IS BETTER: THE PROCESS
1. A pressure-formed core provides
the combination of expansion and
strength never before available in this
class of deer rifle projectile
2. The copper jacket is deposited
and applied to the core one molecule
at a time for total integrity and

groove-gripping potential.
3. The top and base are pres-
sure-formed to specifications
optimising the terminal performance
on deer and deer-sized game.
4. A skived tip delivers the un-
matched combination of long-range

expansion potential and short-range
toughness.
5. The final Fusion projectile is
pre-programmed and optimized
for maximum transfer of terminal
energy and predictable, dynamic
performance.
