Most hunters will remember the Ruger M77

bolt action rifle, with its controlled round

Mauser style feed two lug bolt, angled front

action screw and integral scope bases – and

with something Kiwi hunters seemed to insist

on, its positive half open bolt position

More recently they released the American Rifle, with its full

diameter three lug bolt and unique bedding system. This

model will be somewhat cheaper to produce due to the

simplified machining required. For those who preferred the old

classic M77, they have continued it in their Hawkeye lineup.

Now Ruger have a long range target version available in 6.5
