US singles chart by a solo artist
Drake (CAN, b. Aubrey Drake Graham) placed
24 tracks simultaneously on the Billboard
Hot 100 on the chart dated 8 Apr 2017. In the
process, he also claimed the all-time record for
the most Hot 100 entries by a solo artist: 154.

Decades with a Top 20 hit on
the US Hot Country Songs chart
Dolly Parton (USA) has had Top 20 hits for
six consecutive decades (1960s–2010s). Her
first Top 20 entry was “Something Fishy”
in 1967, since when she’s been a credited artist
on a further 73 Top 20 hits. A new version
of her 1974 hit “Jolene” with a cappella
quintet Pentatonix (USA) debuted at No.18 on
Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart dated
8 Oct 2016. It was Dolly’s 107th chart entry –
the most hits on the US Hot Country Songs
chart by a female artist.

David Bowie (UK, b. David Jones) placed 19
albums in the Top 100. The iconic musician, who
succumbed to cancer on 10 Jan 2016, owned a
quarter of the Top 40, including his 25th studio
album, Blackstar, which debuted at No.1 with
sales of 146,168 – enough to give “The Thin White
Duke” a 10th chart-topper in the UK.

No.1 on the Official Albums Chart
