On 3 Mar 2016, Australian rugby union star Drew
Mitchell ran 100 m in clogs in 14.43 sec on the
set of Sky Sports Rugby in Toulon, France. It
was one of four records set by the fleet-footed
Wallaby winger – all in the same day! Mitchell ran
through the pain barrier to smash the previous
best of 16.27 sec, set by Andre Ortolf (DEU, see
right) on 25 Oct 2013.
Rap jumping
The term for abseiling down a vertical wall in a
standing position (feet on the wall) while facing
the ground is rap jumping. The fastest 100-m rap
jump took 14.09 sec and was achieved by Luis
Felipe de Carvalho Leal (BRA) on the RB1 building
in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 23 Oct 2011.

Otis Gowa (AUS) propelled a wheelbarrow
down a 100 - m track in 14 sec at Davies Park in
Mareeba, Queensland, Australia, on 15 May 2005.
By a pantomime horse (men)
Shane Crawford and Adrian Mott (both AUS)
ran 100 m in 12.045 sec wearing a pantomime
horse costume on The Footy Show in Melbourne,
Victoria, Australia, on 30 Jul 2009.
