SUPERHUMANS

ON CRUTCHES
ȍINVERTEDȎ
On 6 Mar 2014, in a
remarkable demonstration
of strength, stamina and
balance, Tameru Zegeye
(ETH) raced down a 100-m
track upside down and
on forearm crutches in
57.00 sec in Fürth, Bavaria,
Germany. Tameru was born
with deformed feet and

has developed prodigious
upper-body strength and
is now a circus performer.

For Lucas’s
vertiginous
record attempt, the
slackline was suspended

70 m^
(230^ ft) above the
ground, between two
piers of Hailuogou
Valley Bridge.

Olympic Park Athletic Field in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan.
He had broken the record on four separate occasions

Pearson ran a 100-m egg and
spoon race in 16.59 sec in

for a distance of 100 m in 2 min 0.3 sec at Trafalgar Wharf in
Portchester, Hampshire, UK, on 23 May 2013. In accordance
with GWR’s guidelines, Dmitri used a standard, commercially
available kayak paddle. Aside from hollowing it out, he did
not modify the pumpkin in any way.

swivel chair in Augsburg, Germany, on 15 Aug 2014. Earlier
that year, he had run the fastest 100 m in ski boots, but Max
Willcocks (UK) now holds this record, with a time of 14.09 sec.
André was also in the team that ran the fastest 4 x 100 m
relay in firemenȣs uniform (59.58 sec), again in Augsburg,
on 30 Jun 2016. His team-mates were Markus Eppler,
Peter Mayer and Anselm Brieger (all DEU).

IN HIGH-HEELED

100 m on her high-
