SUPERHEROES IN 24 HOURS

(MULTIPLE VENUES)

On 18^ Apr 2015, over the course of 24

hr, a total

of 2,003 people dressed up as superheroes across

14 different locations around the world, in an event

arranged by DC^ Comics (USA). All of the characters

portrayed were chosen from the pantheon of DC’s

costumed crimefighters. The event kicked off in Queensland,

Australia, and came to a close in Los

Angeles, California, USA.

MOST FUNCTIONAL GADGETS

IN A COSPLAY SUIT

A Batsuit created by creature special-effects

expert Julian Checkley

(UK) incorporates

23 functional gadgets. These

include a fireball launcher,

tracking device, folding

batarang, smoke bombs

and Batman’s signature

grapnel gun. The

costume, which was

designed and built

in 2016, is based

on the suit in the

videogame

Bros., 2013).

LARGEST GATHERING OF

PEOPLE DRESSED AS SUPERMAN

On 27 Jul 2013, the Kendal Calling festival in Lowther

Deer Park, Cumbria, UK, welcomed 867 Men (and Women

and Children) of Steel in an event organized by Escapade

(UK). The record attempt was staged to coincide with the

launch of the movie

Man of Steel (USA/CAN/UK, 2013) and

to help raise awareness for the “Help for Heroes” charity.

the Muckno Mania Festival
