SINGLE-ACTION ARMY SERIES
No fi rearms collection is complete without at least one Single-
Action Army revolver. Sure, the design is archaic; yet few other
fi rearms stir the imagination to the same lengths as the historic
six-shooter and its modern-day replicas. Luckily, the market is growing for
these classics with Pietta Firearms’ recent announcement of the expansion of
its 1873 SA series. In all, the line now boasts more than 30 confi gurations of
the Single-Action Army revolver, available in six chamberings, including .45 Long
Colt, .357 Magnum, .44/40 Winchester, .44 Magnum, .22 WMR and .22 LR.

S333 THUNDERSTRUCK

The S333 Thunderstruck is a volley-fi re wheelgun, cutting loose two rounds of .22 WMR

with each trigger pull. While the twin-barrel design sounds a bit gimmicky, there are some

solid points behind it. First, it lessens the chance of a misfi re, given you’ll likely always

have one cartridge fi ring. Next, it ups the borderline defensive round’s stopping potential by

delivering a double payload. The eight-round revolver is also uniquely confi gured with a double-

hooktriggeractuatedby both the index and middle fi ngers. The DAO revolver also boasts a

bladesafetyonthetrigger—almost unheard of on a wheelgun.
