racesontheEuropeanCircuit.For 12 years,kayakersfromallaroundtheworldhavecometoshow
theirskillontheClassV rapidsof theDevil'sStreams.The13theditionpromisesadrenaline,music,and
fun,withqualitypaddlingfrommorningtoevening,thelegendaryHell-trainshuttle,plusfournightsof
music,dancing,andcelebration.Kayakerscompeteinthreedisciplines:TheDownRiversprint,which
is thequalificationfortheboatercross,andthelongracecalledDamToDam.TheHIKODevilsExtreme
RacetakesplaceonthehardestsectionoftheVltavaRiver,calledDevil'sStreams.Theraceis opento
anyonecomfortableonclassV. Notupto thechallengeof Devil'sStreams?Noworries,therearemany
otherclassIII-IVsectionswithfunrapidsandbigwavesfurtherdownstream.Theweekendbeginson
Thursday,August22nd,withtheopeningparty,followedbyfreekayakingandHelltrainshuttlesallday
Friday,August23rd.Forloversofopen-airconcertsanddancing,thereareliveconcertsonFridayand
Saturdayevenings.Alltheraces,followedbyprizegivingceremonialandthefamousarmwrestling
matchwilltakeplaceonSaturday,August24th.It takesonlytwohoursbycartogettotheDevil’s
ExtremeRacefromPragueandlessthanthreehoursbybusortrainfromSalzburg,ViennaorMunich.

MACHUPICCHUKAYAKFEST 2019 willtakeplaceonthefirstweekendinOctober,Friday,October4th

andSaturday,October5th.MachuPicchuKayakFestis a whitewatercommunityfestivaldesignedto

celebrateandpromotethediversityofriversoftheUrubambaRivervalley.Thefestivaltakesplace

inthetownofSantaTeresa,just1½hourhikefromtheactualarchaeologicalsiteofMachuPicchu.

Fridaynightwillhosttheopeningceremonyanddinner;onSaturdaytheboatercrossrace,downriver

race,closingceremonyandpartyintheCocalmayohotspringswilltakeplace.Morethananything,

MACHUPICCHUKAYAKFESTisexcitedtocontinuefurtheringthedevelopmentofthesportamong

youngPeruvians.Thefestivalaimstofosteranenvironmentofinclusionandcreateopportunitiesto
