  “Originally,itwasamuchsmallerstairlobby,but
  theyachtwasbecomingsograndthatitneeded
  agrandsideentranceandawaytoconnectthe
  interiordecks,”Reymondsays.
  Itwasanideathatworkedbeautifullywiththe
  sortofwasp-waiststructureLeachhaddeveloped
  fortheexterior.Nippinginthesidedecksbrings
  lightinsidebutalsomakesthesidedecksliveable
  spaces,tointeractwiththeoutdoorsandwith
  guestsondecksaboveorbelow.
  Whenitcametointeriorconcepts,Reymond
  says,“thesensewascontemporarybutdetailed,
  likeaprettyjewelleryboxwiththingstoopen.
  [Tanya]wantedthearchitecturetobelight,white
  joinery,andthatisdifficultbecauseitdoesnot
  existinnature.”ThewoodtheSnyderschosewas
  quiltedmaple,ahoney-colouredtimberthat
  bleachesandstainseasily.“Iknewthatitwas
  specialandisusedforthingslikethebacksof
  guitarsordecorativeboxes,”saysReymond.“Itis
  oneofthemostexoticthingsweusedonboard.
  Ididn’tknowhowrareitwasuntilIgotintoit.
  “Therootofthedesignisthem,”shecontinues.
  “It’sverypersonalandverycomfortableandnot
  heavy.Youfeellikeyouarefloatingwhenyou
  comeaboard.”
  Thereisnobetterplacetoexperiencethat
  sensationthaninthewindowsofthemaindeck

guestsuites,whichare2.8metres

wideandsodeepyoucaneasily

sitinthemandgazeoutatthesea.

Fourofthesixsuitescanbe

arrangedastwoVIPs,witha

sliding wall connecting a

bedroomandasittingroomthat

featuresafold-outterrace.The

bedssothattheycanalsobe

separatecabins.Ratherthan

nameornumbertheguestcabins,

astheyarefacedwithdramatic

gleaminglaser-cutstainlesssteel.
