34 Jeremiah 21-36: A Translation

my covenant be broken with David, my servant, so there would not be for
him a son reigning on his throne, also with the Levitical priests, my minis-
ters.^22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered and the sand of the sea
cannot be measured, so I will multiply the seed of David, my servant, also
the Levites who minister to me.
b) Seed of Jacob and David to Continue (33:23-26)
33 23 And the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah:^24 'Have you not seen what

burn for you, and "Woe, lord!" they shall lament for you, for the word I, I
have spoken-oracle of Yahweh.
(^6) So Jeremiah, the prophet, spoke to Zedekiah, king of Judah, all these words in
Jerusalem.^7 And the army of the king of Babylon was fighting against Jeru-
