Final pose Keep the balance and look upwards. Pull
the left shoulder back to open the chest
a bit more.
TIP! Keep the eyes open to balance easier
while in the pose.
In Parivrtta Baddha Trikonasana, there are many movements going on and it is natural that there would be challenges
in coming into this pose.
Below are the modifications available to different practitioners:
modiFiCations
For those with limited internal shoulder rotation
Instead of aiming to slide the arm under the thigh, simply
hold the side of hip while the free hand holds the waist.
For those with limited hamstring flexibility
Bend the front leg’s knee for a more comfortable
hamstring stretch.
For those challenged by balance
Looking upwards into a plain space while in the pose can
cause the practitioner to lose balance. Look forwards/
straight ahead instead of turning the head to look
upwards. Another option would be to look down to the
foot or to the floor.
