preloved items from bygone eras with a

vibrant dash of retro chic, visit the Vintage

Ideas Market at Simondium’s Country

Lodge on the R45 between Paarl and

Franschhoek. You’ll find a wide range

of items including retro decor objects,

clothing, jewellery, glass and silverware,

and even garden accessories!

The deli will take a step back in time

too, so you can stock up with delicious

homemade goodies to fill your pantry.

With the market running from Thursday

27 April to Monday 1 May, it’s the perfect

way to take time out over the long

weekend. The market hours are: Thursday

to Sunday 9.30am to 4pm, and 9.30am to

3pm on Monday. Tickets are R30 for adults,

while children under the age of 18 enter

for free. Ample parking and security are

This cute bunny silhouette cushion cover is quick

and simple to make and perfect for adding a

touch of whimsy to your Easter theme. All you

need to create the look is an erasable fabric

marker, some fabric paint and a brush, a piece

of board slightly bigger than your template, and

a cushion cover.

Firstly, download the template from

Yourfamily.co.za. Next, slip the board in behind

where you plan to place your design so that you

don’t have fabric paint bleeding through the

fabric. Draw the outline using our template and

paint the silhouette with fabric paint. Hoppy?

After the successful launch of the Charity range
of yarn in 4-ply, double knit and chunky, Elle
has added a Charity Mega Chunky. Available in
variegated colours with fun names such as Hippie
and Cowabunga as well as solids ranging from
gentle Cream to a bright and vibey Tiger Cerise,
they come in a 300g ball and will quickly knit up
into a cosy winter blanket.
A new release for 2017 is Elle Biggy Mega
Chunky. With these yarns being so cost-effective
it’s easy to whip up impressive but affordable
decor projects.
These yarn weights are also good for the
arm knitting trend so we tested it out and quickly
(very quickly!) whipped up a sample in the
Charity yarn. We’re delighted with the result
(pictured here).
