The Wild Lotus Studio opened in September
- Situated in the historic market town of
Newbury in Berkshire, it embraces a diversity of
yoga, circus, movement and dance. The building
itself is a truly unique setting for a yoga studio.
A former seventeenth century coaching inn,
frequented by royals and highwaymen alike, it
has been a focus for hospitality in all shapes
and forms for over 300 years. Now providing a
facility for yoga education, development and
exploration, it’s a family-run studio owned by
Mel and Tim Evans and Yasmin Strong, with
around 14 resident teachers providing a varied
timetable of classes and styles (hot yoga, aerial,
even ‘Punk Rock Yoga’). There’s also meditation,
classes for rehabilitation (Hatha for Health),
pre- and post-natal yoga. Studio staff also take
their work out into the community running aerial
and mat yoga sessions in local schools and at
special events, including rock festivals.
