MICHAEL OVERBECK’S

aArc’teryx Alpha
FL 45L
An incredibly lightweight
and waterproof bag that is
built to take a beating.
bMEC Aquila -7C
My go-to bag for summer
and winter camping. Nice
and warm when you have
to bivy in the alpine, but
still light and packable as
it’s down.
cHydroflask
Waterbottle
A little bit burly, but keeps
your water ice cold all-day.

dLululemon Surge 7"
Lightweight, tough and has
a pocket on the side that is
perfect for gels.
eHelly Hansen
Vertex K Zip Fleece
As simple as it gets. Warm,
lightweight and extremely
breathable.
fHelly Hansen
VTR SS Tee
Lightweight, inexpensive
and wicks away sweat
which is key when you have
a backpack on all day.

gHelly Hansen
Odin Minimalist
One of my favourite items
for running. The most light-
weight shell I’ve ever worn,
yet extremely waterproof.
hHelly Hansen
Dry Socks
Very thin, and have an
extremely tight fit, which
makes blisters non-existent.
iArcteryx AR Long
Bottoms – A mid-
weight base layerthat
is perfect to run in, and
put on at camp when the
temperatures start dropping.

jLeatherman
Skeletool, Mio and
Black Diamond
Storm Headlamp
A lightweight multi-tool
that can clip onto your bag.
Mio is to flavour your water,
on long runs this is a must
have for me. I usually use
it every other time I fill up
my water bottle. The Storm
is a 250-lumen headlamp
which is perfect for when
you have to run at night, yet
still very lightweight.

kTherm-A-Rest
Neo-Air X-Lite
One of the most lightweight
pads on the market. My
go-to pad for any adventure.
lSalomon
Speedcross 3
The grip on these shoes is
amazing, whether you’re
in mud or snow, they grip
without a problem. Plus,
they have waterproof and
non-waterproof models.

mFood
To be able to pack light,
none of my food needed to
be cooked. I brought beef
jerky, Clif Bars, Elevate-Me
Bars, a chicken avocado
wrap, dried mango, dried
bananas, gummy bears and
Clif Bloks.
nArc’teryx
Cerium LT
A lightweight down jacket
with a hood, perfect for
cold nights, and packs
down to essentially nothing.
