yoga is based on today – the 8 limbs.
His 196 Sutras give an insight into
asana, ethical guidelines for life,
overcoming the ego and moving
towards enlightenment. Radiance
Sutras by Lorin Roche is a beautiful,
modern translation.

The Bhagavad Gita
The 700 verse Hindu scripture in

Hatha Yoga Pradipika
Written by Swami Svatmarama,
this classic includes postures,
purifying practices, mudras,
bandhas and pranayama, as well
as an explanation about awakening
kundalini and technical overviews on
how and why yoga postures are
practiced.

Autobiography of a Yogi

extraordinary life – he found his guru
at a young age and became a monk,
and in the 1920s was one of the first
