Tandoori Cauliflower Steaks


Makes 2


Ingredients



  • 1 medium cauliflower

  • 2 tsp olive or coconut oil

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp black onion seeds

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • ½ tsp sea salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice


Method


1. Trim the leaves and base from the cauliflower
and carefully cut 2 steaks from the widest
part at the middle. Arrange in a baking dish
and preheat the oven to 200C/395F
2. In a small bowl, mix together the oil with all
the spices and lemon juice and pour over the
steaks, turning them over in the marinade
until fully coated.
3. Transfer to the oven and bake for 20-30
minutes, or until golden and slightly charred
at the edges.

For extra flavour,
marinate the steaks
in the spices overnight
in the fridge
before baking.
