them traveling into your hands so that your
fingers are then clasped around them. Then,
when you are ready, put your hand into the
water and open it up, allowing that which
holds you back to drop gently into the water
and flow away down the stream. Do this for
as long as you like, as long as you need
to let go of those things hindering your
true creativity and desire. Then, when you
want to, get up and walk back the way you
came...up the path and into the meadow
once again, still smelling the sweet scent
of rose in the air. When you arrive in the
meadow, the sun has set and all you can see
is the crescent moon in the sky. You smile
a satisfying joyful smile and breathe easier
than before. As you let the visualisation away
you breathe deeply and then open your eyes
feeling lighter, more creative and joyful than
ever before.

AFFIRMATIONS:
I want to be creative
I flow with joy
I feel the sensuality within
I feel passionate
I accept pleasure in my life

SEED SOUND AND MUDRA:
Chanting seed sounds requires you to
‘sound’ the word inside your body and aim
the sound at the chakra or part of the body
associated with the sound. Seed sounds
stimulate and shake up the energy of the
chakra to open them and balance them.
Mudras using hand gestures are also said to
stimulate the energy of the chakra. You can
chant these in the postures whist visualising
the colour associated with it, or as a
meditation with the mudra.

can be an issue if this chakra is blocked
or unopen. When the chakra is stimulated
by the various yoga methods the jealousy
can turn into joy and fantasy into creativity.
The lesson of this chakra is creativity and
learning our person skills which we can use
for the good of all in the world. Addiction
can be an issue if this chakra is blocked,
such as drugs, sex or alcohol. An imbalance
of the energy of the Svadhishthana chakra
can be impotency and frigidity if there is
too much yin here, or a sexual obsession or
sexual overactivity if there is too much yang
energy here. A balance of yin and yang is
always the path to seek. This chakra (like the
Muladhara chakra) is connected to material
and physical things, though less dense than
the Muladhara energy.

YOGA POSTURES TO BALANCE
& STIMULATE:
Cobbler (Baddha Konasana), Triangle
Pose (trikonasana), Half Moon Pose (Ardha
Chandrasana), Gate Pose (parighasana) and
Reclined Bound Angle Pose (Supta Baddha
Konasana).

CHAKRA BALANCING MEDITATION:
Flow Meditation:
Close your eyes in your seated meditative
pose and for a few moments simply focus
your awareness on your breath. After a little
while allow your mind to visualise a scene:
in your mind’s eye you are in a meadow of
beautiful grass. In this meadow, you hear
some running water in the distance and
go to walk towards it. The sun is beginning
to set and a crescent moon is just starting
to appear. The birds are flying around and
looking for their evening food. You notice
that there is a beautiful scent of rose in
the air and see that ahead of you there are
some roses alongside a path. The water
sounds you hear are down this path and so
you follow it, until you reach the end of the
path where it reveals a gentle stream. There
is a rock nearby and you sit on it, next to the
stream. Notice the water and how it flows so
easily over the rocks beneath and pushes
any debris out of its way as it flows away,
making the water’s path much easier. Stay
here a while and watch the water flowing as
you reflect upon your own ability to go with
the flow and push through any obstacles
with ease. Without judgement, do you find it
easy to flow with life, or do you perhaps get
stuck sometimes? Use these few moments
to think of a situation or circumstance which
you have struggled to let go, and perhaps
hindered your inner desires and creativities.
When you have noted one or more, picture

Sound for Muladhara: VAM
Mudra: Cup your hands together with the
left hand underneath. Bring the tips of your
thumbs together and bring the hand up to
and close to the sacral area on the body.

CRYSTALS TO BALANCE & STIMULATE:
Crystals have ancient healing energy and
power for the chakras, and to use them with
your chakras all you need to do is carry
them on your person in some way. Also, by
relaxing with the crystal placed on or near
the chakra location is very balancing.
Crystals/Stones: Citrine, Yellow Jasper,
Tiger’s Eye and Carnelian.

AROMATHERAPY/ESSENTIAL OILS
TO BALANCE & STMULATE:
Essential oils can be used by adding to
a little milk (so that the oil mixes in) and
adding to our bath water, in oil burners,
on your pillow for bedtime, on a hanky
to carry with you, or even in foods/water
(under expert guidance only). Sense of smell
is the first sense we are born with which
make it one of the most powerful senses to
use in healing.
Essential Oils: Neroli, Rose, all Citrus oils
such as Lemon and Tangerine, Jasmine
and Hibiscus.

Work with these yoga postures, techniques
and with the additional supports over the
next month and many insights into your own
sacral chakra energy and the lessons you
are to learn there will be revealed.
